World urged to resolve Palestine dispute

ISLAMABAD: Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) on Sunday organised a function at Kashmir House to mark the United Nations’ International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People.

Speakers urged international community to play its due role for early resolution of the Palestinian dispute.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Secretary General, Mushahid Hussain Sayed said on the occasion that Pakistan had always supported the Palestinian cause and would continue supporting Palestinians in their struggle for independence. He said US President Obama should step in and resolve the longstanding dispute.

Human Rights Minister Mumtaz Gilani said both Kashmiris and Palestinians were fighting for a just cause and would soon be among independent nations.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Siddiqul Farooq said his party always raised voice for Kashmiris and Palestinians alike. He said the international community should ensure early settlement of the Palestinian dispute.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Farooq Haider said that the Kashmir and Palestine issues were the same in nature, as the people were being denied basic human rights at these two occupied territories.

He said the Kashmiri people stood by their Palestinian brothers and sisters in their fight for freedom and would continue supporting them.

Palestinian Ambassador Hazem Hussein Abu Shanab also attended the function.
